Planning application of Nutberry Farm

Planning application of Nutberry Farm is being made for an in-vessel composting site

There was a meeting between representatives of Ripley Parish Council, Ockham Parish Council and Wisley RHS.

Planning application of Nutberry Farm is being made for an in-vessel composting site, abutting Ripley Village, under the Surrey Waste Plan and is being assessed by Surrey County Council. This process is likely to take several weeks but the public consultation process is now underway therefore you are invited to make your comments to them and it is suggested that the following points are most relevant:

1) This application is not part of the Surrey Waste Plan adopted by S.C.C. on 6th May 2008.

2) The application goes against the very essence of the Green Belt ethos and all that it represents.

3) An unacceptable level of HGV vehicle movements (100+ per day) will cause traffic problems, congestion, noise and accidents both through Ripley village, its environs and the A3 roundabout north of the village, which is the proposed site entry/exit.

4) The visual impact of a lightly screened industrial site, covering 3 hectares with mesh fencing all round and security lights etc will be totally unacceptable in this rural environment.

5) The primary environmental considerations of noise (up to 102 decibels on site), odour (rotting green waste and household foodstuffs), and water pollution (local streams) are all against such a development.

Please view this application at www.guildford.gov.uk/DLDC_Version_2/ and detail 08/P/00825 in the Application Quick Search box to find out any more that you want to know. The S.C.C. Planning Dept. contact is:
